Information for people at risk of CKD or living with CKD

What is this?

• Educational leaflets and videos for patients with CKD who are not on dialysis or have had a kidney transplant.
• People living with CKD co-designed these leaflets during virtual workshops led by experts in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement.
• The leaflets and videos are in English. The videos have subtitles in Guajarati and Polish.

What it does

The leaflets and videos help people living with CKD understand:

• What it means to have a new diagnosis of CKD
• What causes CKD
• What they can do to prevent CKD from getting worse
• What they can eat
• What the treatments are
• What to do if they feel unwell whilst taking medication

How you use it

1. Send the leaflets and videos to newly diagnosed patients via text message.
2. Print them out to give to patients at appointments.
3. Show the videos to patients at appointments or during group educational sessions.
