Information for people at risk of CKD or living with CKD
What is this?
- Educational leaflets and videos for patients with CKD who are not on dialysis or have had a kidney transplant.
- People living with CKD co-designed these leaflets during virtual workshops led by experts in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement.
- The leaflets and videos are in English. The videos have subtitles in Guajarati and Polish.
What it does
The leaflets and videos help people living with CKD understand:
- What it means to have a new diagnosis of CKD
- What causes CKD
- What they can do to prevent CKD from getting worse
- What they can eat
- What the treatments are
- What to do if they feel unwell whilst taking medication
How you use it
- Send the leaflets and videos to newly diagnosed patients via text message.
- Print them out to give to patients at appointments.
- Show the videos to patients at appointments or during group educational sessions.
